Marketing Intern

Duration: May to August, 2025 | Hours: Minimum of 5 hours per week | Location: Remote

Environmental Alliance Description: The Environmental Alliance is an alliance of environmental non-profits, non-governmental organizations, and other groups using science and research to develop common ground promoting the environment, business, government, and people. Using a unified voice, we support individuals and organizations to develop strategies to ensure a healthy global environment.

Job Description: The Marketing Intern will be integral in enhancing The Environmental Alliance’s social media presence and engagement. This role involves developing and executing social media strategies, creating content, and analyzing engagement metrics to increase outreach and visibility for our programs and initiatives. The intern will work closely with the Director of Marketing to implement and refine strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct social media audits to evaluate current performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Develop and manage a content calendar, including educational, promotional, and interactive content.

  • Implement engagement strategies to increase interaction with followers.

  • Analyze engagement data and adjust strategies based on performance insights.

  • Prepare reports summarizing progress, successes, and recommendations for future strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Background or studies in Marketing, Communications, Environmental Studies, or a related field.

  • Strong interest in environmental issues and social media marketing.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in social media platforms and basic understanding of analytics tools.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Pillar Intern

Using a unified voice, we support individuals and organizations to develop strategies to ensure a healthy global environment.

Job Description: The Pillar Intern will assist in developing and managing frameworks for specific environmental pillars. This role involves conducting research, building partnerships with relevant organizations, and gathering resources to support pillar initiatives. The intern will work under the guidance of the Director to implement structured approaches and support pillar-specific goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify relevant nonprofits, alliances, and organizations.

  • Develop and document a management framework for the assigned pillar, including meeting schedules and actionable goals.

  • Collaborate with other pillar interns to ensure cohesive management strategies.

  • Collect and organize resources for the pillar’s webpage and marketing materials.

  • Prepare comprehensive reports and handover documentation at the end of the internship.

  • Conservation and Preservation: Focus on biological diversity, land, and water resources.

  • Technology: Develop common technology solutions for organizations and the environment.

  • Nature and the Outdoors: Promote accessibility to the outdoors and nature for everyone.

  • Species: Research and protect biodiversity.

Qualifications:

  • Background or studies in Environmental Studies, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.

  • Strong interest in environmental issues and nonprofit operations.

  • Excellent organizational, research, and communication skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with external partners.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic understanding of web content management.
